66 Satellite steering column seal installation.

i'm replacing the lower steering column seal on my 66 Satellite. Does the shaft have to come out of the column or will the cross pin for the coupler press out of the steering shaft?

Take the lower coupler apart and remove the cross pin. the seal slides up the shaft

Coupler is apart, the cross pin just doesn't want to move. I'll get serious about it and put it in the press.

trust me, its in there tight. But will come out.
