'67 R/T Console Lid Paint

I'm wanting to do a check here for anyone who has a '67 R/T w/automatic console, and the console is still as it came from the factory.
One quick question: are the grooves left in their natural chrome, or are they filled with black paint?
The car I have now has had the console lid restored, but there's no black paint in the grooves. And with my three previous '67s I can't, for the life of me, remember if the grooves were black.
If anyone can weigh in and advise me what their car has, I'd really appreciate it.

My first new car was a 67 Satellite, console equipped. Black paint in the groves and argent silver on the side strips.

My 4 speed console the grooves are black. I used Krylon semi flat black to fill in the grooves.
