Hi. Have a '68 Dodge Charger with factory aircon. Still retains factory compressor. Aircon has not been used for many years. It did run about a decade ago. If I switch on, the compressor just about stalls the engine, indicating that the compressor's almost seized and needs to come out. I'd like to keep the original compressor even though the modern ones are more efficient / use less hp. Does anyone have a good guide to rebuilding aircon systems - not just the compressor - on 60's Mopars? Lines are all there although I doubt there would be any gas in the lines. I presume I'd have to replace receiver / dryer unit. Any advice much appreciated. I'll leave gassing up the system to the pro's. R-134a is the most common HFC in Australia, although there are probably other options.
