68 Charger tail panel garage art

I am looking for a good used tail panel to make some wall art for my garage. I have 6 pair of 68 Charger tail lights as extras, and I want to make some wall art for my garage. I am going to wire some bulbs in the tail lights and then put them in the tail panel and hang it on the wall. A few rust holes are OK. Anyone ever done this? I am curious if the bulbs will handle AC current from the wall if I do it or will I need to get a converter? Something like this.....

You would need to run the auto bulbs from 12VDC not 120VAC. You need a power supply with ~2 amps. LEDs would draw a lot less.
