68 Charger Volt/Ammeter gauge issue

I just put everything back together and the ammeter is working again! Thanks to the great guys on FBBO. I couldn't have done it without your help. The pictures in order are: 1. Key off;
2. key on, engine off;
3. key on engine running..

That is quite a bit of charging registering in your running picture, the battery charge is either very low or you have aftermarket loads connected to the battery-battery side of the ammeter. As mentioned, battery charged, ammeter should not be showing any significant charging while in operation.

If the needle stays in the same position when running as noted in your third picture, you didn't fix anything. The needle should swing to the charge side immediately after starting, but should settle back to dead center after a few minutes.
That picture was taken a startup, after running for a few minutes the needle did settle down. The battery was a little low from sitting for a while.
