Hello guys, Im Pat, 26, and from Southern Oklahoma. This is my newest project since i sold my Plymouth Scamp 10 years ago. This car came from the coast of Mississippi and has plenty of rust damage.
-So my plan so far is complete suspension kit replacement probably from PST.
-Next up is body work. Motor runs good but the 8 3/4 I believe is the original from the 318 and has tall gear making the car very sluggish. Im guessing 2.xx? Ratio.
-Last will probably be engine bay clean up and motor repaint. Hopefully the addition of a lopey cam and new exhaust. Magnaflow maybe? Opinions?

I’ll gladly accept any advice and constructive criticism. Im learning as I go with a few old farts helping me along the way and getting to reminisce on their days of glory and their old former hot rods. Car will be mostly a street car. Maybe a trip or two to the track to test it out. But i want a nasty street car that puts a hurting on these punks in their obnoxious Mustangs and Camaros.
Long live Mopar!

Greetings from northern MI.

Nice '68. Sounds like you got a bit of work ahead of you and you've already got it all planned out.
Pics are mandatory here and you certainly get an A for that.

Thank you! Im sure im gonna need plenty of help along the way especially with choosing Cam durations and such. I haven’t learned yet how to understand them.

Welcome from Illinois!! Keep us posted as your project progresses. Maybe start a thread in Member's Projects & Restorations. Might teach even us old farts a thing or two!

Welcome from Alabama, 68 was a great year for Mopars.

Welcome. Glad you have some local gear heads to help you along the way. I have more questions everyday with my car. This group had already been a help. Love the ride.

Welcome from Missouri!!

Got some identification numbers to help figure out what this car was originally.

It was a 318 automatic Satellite.

Welcome to FBBO from New Zealand.

QQ1 is a nice colour.
Thank you! I’m thinking about going back to it! Some genius decided to paint the car twice. First like a burgundy with flake, and then like matador red and interior painted red and black over the factory blue ‍♂️

Jerry, thats what i was told. Originally a 318 with A/C car. Wish I could find out what that 440 came out of. Your response time is incredible!
It more than likely came from a 68 GTX or R/T. Look at the back of the block towards the drivers side there may be a partial VIN on the lip where the bell housing or transmission bolts up.

Okay will do! I’ll post on this thread what i find. Is there a way by VIN to know what car it came from? Or at least if its a Dodge or Plymouth assigned motor so i know whether to call it a Magnum or a Super Commando! haha
