interesting...now why would somebody back in the day go through the effort to add an orange strip just to confuse me. Do people even want these grilles anymore now that there are repops? Same with the old gas tanks...I'm getting tired of looking at these.
Back in the day? I bought a 70 Challenger in 1980 and did a few mods to the tail light trim. Painted it flat black and even toned down the reverse lens. I did that in the late 80's early 90's. I also 'personalized' my 66 Belvedere with a blacked out grille made from egg crate plastic in the late 60's. This is it's all about!
Back in the day lots of guys I knew would black out the grilles for a tougher looking car, It was a cheap customizing thing. Never seen the orage but it might have been painted red and then faded or orange to match the car?
The car is T5 but that's not to say the guy I bought it from didn't have another car that was orange. He had a couple GTXs and I'm sure others that I didn't see. This car at some point in its life was Duke's of Hazzard as evidenced by the passenger side frame rail being bent upward a little bit and the creases along the passenger inner fender. Apparently some people thought a Mopar could actually jump and be okay without 10" of suspension travel.
