Hey guys getting a few things together I have new belt trim for the 69 Charger project. I have the old trims, pretty rough shape most clips that are in the old trim are broken
    And missing
I can tell the clips are smaller on front end gradually getting bigger towards the back.
and there is some kind of fiber spacer on the clip to keep the stainless centered .
any idea where I can find the right clips for both doors

I am going to need them soon and have the same question. I have not seen them advertised anywhere.

Vans just recently released the belt molding trim, so hopefully they will have clip kit available in the near future. SWR has been telling us that they will have a clip kit available, but that was over an year ago.

Until someone comes out with a reproduction kit, your at the mercy of finding good used ones which can get very pricey. Using generic spring style clips and tweaking them is another option, but will require some work and effort.

I'm not familiar with SWR ,have you tried Stephens performance junkyard in Alabama ?
I know that RT Specialties has a lot of clips and fasteners. those new belt trims really look amazing im really wanting new clips but used might be the only option. If I find something I'll be sure to share with you

I reached out RT Specialties a couple months ago when I was looking for mine, he WISHED he had some but doesn't have a supplier - yet anyway. I ended up getting the ones I needed through this site.

SWR is a wholesaler who provides many of the vendors / retailers with a wide range of reproduction parts, many of them being the small hard to find items that are fairly specialized.

If someone has an extra set of moldings with the clips in tact, they will most probably not be interested in busting up the entire assembly. I have seen complete clip kits in great shape sell for as close to the price of the reproduction moldings.

Due to them being very unique and that each clip has a variation in size and profiles, it makes them very costly to reproduce. Usual production runs of say 10,000 clips to get them cost effective will last a manufacturer a couple life times. Factor in that there is five distinct clips needed plus the clip with the stud for the 69/70 production years. That is why nobody has stepped up and done a correct kit to this point.

So we can only wait and see what may turn up. With so many concerns with the economic future and trade issues, most of the manufacturers / vendors are hesitant to make that gamble.

Auveco makes a lot of this stuff. I saw a lot of clips like these. I was able to match up the side molding clips for my 67 442 through them, it's it's worth a shot.

I just got off the phone with vans.
They have put together a clip set for the door belt moldings
A set of 12 . Six for each door $50
no stud available yet. They say the stud clip started on the 1970
I don't know if that is accurate my 69 has 7 holes for the trim, the last hole at the pillar end, is a bit smaller for the probably 4 the stud .I don't think it will accept a clip.
I'm going to get the 12 pice kit they offer, try to find or make a stud
Possibly double stick tap the stud location

        I

My 69 has the clips with the stud on each end. I think you might be able to find one that will work. I can measure mine if you want. I would like to see the clips they send you.

I will send you a pic. Of the new clips when I get them.
They told me they're marked in orantation small to large.
Complete with small a foam filler piece on each clip.
I thought the foam fiber was to help keep the clips centered, according to van's the foam is to seal water out of the door, either way it's on there.
As for the stud, I think ford used something similar that could be modified.
I have one of what I think is the base the base of the stud clip, the bolt is broken off,
        looks like a 10/32 ?

Good lead my friend. Fine people at auveco
these two part numbers come close to the 3/4" x 11/4" OG.
20175 is 9/16" x 1 3/4" it's about a sixteenth narrow but it will probably work it comes with the tension Spring .
the 19378 is three-quarter inch wide by 2 and 1/2 width 1/8" break off tabs no spring tensioner. both with 10 24 stud
Auveco will also hook you up with a local distributor
