Hello Fellow Mopar Fans.

I have a 69 charger (383 magnum 4 barrel) with no overheating issues. It generally runs around 170 to maybe 180/190 according to the dash gauge (170 I'm certain about but not the 180/190 as there is no number in that range of the gauge) Once it gets to 180/190 it then will drop to 170.

I've been told that I should consider getting a fan shroud and a coolant overflow reservoir. Did the 69 Chargers come stock with these back in the day or not? The radiator was rebuilt prior to me buying the car and like I said it runs fine.

I'm not finding any reproduced stuff for my car and its year, I am finding them on the 1970 b bodies and on. I would also like to keep this as stock as possible.

Am I missing something or should I leave well enough alone?

Thanks.:)

If it has the 22" radiator (round top) then it more than likely didn't have a shroud or clutch fan. If it had a 26" radiator, then it should have had a shroud and probably a clutch fan as well. The shrouds are available new.

Bottom line, if your car is running on temp, then I'm not sure you have a concern

Thanks.

I'll take a look to see if mine is a 22 or 26 and then go from there.
You are probably right though...if it ain't broke, then don't fix it.

they did not come out with coolant return bottles until 1970 models.
If you are running on a strip, you can use a plastic water bottle and drill the cap large enough to fit the tube into and it will work to contain any "burping'. Of course, your system probably does not burp running at 180 or less.
