I am in the process of cleaning and restoring the seat frames before I put the new foam and covers on. Doing so I found the springs are in pretty bad shape on the passenger seat. Easy fix, can buy new ones, the problem however is the 1/4" wide steel bar that goes around the edge of the bottom seat frame which lips to the "s" springs to hold them in place. It is so rusted it has broken in a few places. Any idea where I can find a replacement? If not I can fab one, but all I can find is 1/2" wide bar and 1/4" round bar. Thinking about using the round bar if I need to go this route. Thanks for the help.

A sheet metal shop should be able to cut you a piece the size you need from a 4x8' sheet of metal or from scraps they have because you're pieces are small.... Don't rely on just what the hardware store stocks replace all the metal that looks tired there wouldn't be much sense to cut the pieces out of good frames to put into youres when you could just use the them in
stead....just work on one at a time keeping one for reference

The passenger seat was once the drivers seat at one time.... at least you're fixing the problem and not moving it around.... finding that would make me suspicious of other work done May not be what it appears...
