70 Coronet 9p Wagon Seat Back Liner

The interior in my 70 Coronet nine passenger wagon is real nice with the exception of the vinyl (rubber?) seat back liners. Does anyone know of a close match or something they found acceptable? Color is unimportant, I can take care of making the replacement the right color. TIA!

The best that I found for my 64 fury wagon was outdoor carpet fron Menards. It is not the hard tile like original . But about correct color and easy to make fit and install. Sorry no pictures and car is sold.

I was thinking about making wood rails from teak or another hardwood.

...or maybe the chrome runners step side trucks have.

Wood would probably look better.

Why not vinyl flooring? I'll bet you can get remnants at any carpet store.

I was a carpet and sheet goods (vinyl flooring) installer for many years and may end up going with Level Loop carpet with a bound edge if nothing close is available. Vinyl flooring will probably require gluing to a backer board to prevent curling. The original is mated to a hard fiberboard.

I guess we'll see what surfaces!

Interesting that later wagons had fiberboard, on my 64 it was glued directly to the metal.
