70 GTX REAR TRIM QUESTION

I am working on a 70 gtx for a friend. He bought new trunk lid and rear quarter trim. He also bought a clip kit. When it comes to the rear quarter trim there is no way the clips are going to work. There isnt enough room on the back side of the quarter ext. to fasten the nuts not to mention installing the clips in the trim. I have no idea what the originals look like. The car was apart when he got it. I also cant believe that there is only 2 clips holding the trunk lid trim on but there is only 2 holes in the trunk lid. Any ideas Thank you

Double check your clips. They should fit. There are more than 2 holes along the trunk for the trim

They fit the trunk lid trim but the quarter trim. On this car there is only 2 holes at each end. Other sites ive been they are telling me only 2. The center of the trunk lid trim is held on by 2 sided tape. Never heard of such a thing
