Hey I see you made it over from Fabo, Glad to see you here. (fabo, plumcrazydart) I'm diggin the car! :)

love them 70's, I'd buy it, then make your changes and repairs needed :headbang:

Shurely Has Curb Appeal. Looks Great.

#1 Awesome car!!!

#2 Gonna need to know a bunch more information like originality, body/chassis/drivetrain/suspension condition and interior to take a stab at a ballpark price...

Either way, good luck on your purchase...If I had the money/space, a '70 GTX would be making it's way into my garage.

keep us posted on your progress ,if by chance you pass send me a pm I'm always looking for a 70 and space is always av.:headbang:

Not sure if its the original motor yet. Doesnt run very good. Front end is unsafe to drive according to them. Body is rough , has some homemade trunk patches. Interior is a little rough. I am going to look at it again and more pics, had too may people with me the first visit.

looks nice, wish i could have found one like that all i could find was a 70 belvy, there getting harder to find now and going up in value..there well worth the investment...time to buy one is when u see it..

leave them all behind, take your camera and take alot of photos ,then post them up ,we are all going to get something to drink while we wait :headbang:

As far as documentation goes is the data plate info good enough to make sure this is a real GTX and its pedigree?

Check the stampings on the upper radiator core and the rear drivers side trunk gutter (under the trunk seal). Make sure those match the VIN on the dash.

What's the price, if I may ask? I'd say go for it, buy it. These things are rarer every day. I used to think it was vital to have 'numbers matching' body numbers (as Prop indicated) but since there is tons of aftermarket steel available (these things rust out pretty fast) these numbers if there are nice, but, chances are the qtrs are junk and will need to be replaced, and the new ones don't have numbers stamped in them. And, if you replace the qtrs is welding in the tab with the numbers 'accurate' as it no longer is original metal.

Trying to get them to give me a price. I did get a responce saying someone offered him 70k for it a couple of years ago. Not feeling to good about it right now.

70K??? He should've taken it. There is a '70 GTX with nice colors (and N96) on Ebay for just over 14K. Might be a better deal for you. I spoke w/ the owner of the ebay car a few months ago when he was asking 29K, car sounds good though the quarters are shot.

Nice looking 70 GTX...but from what I can make of the tag you should be looking at a lime green metallic car with a green interior. Not very heavily optioned but I sure wouldn't kick it to the curb if the price was reasonable

I guess it all depends on what your goal is. If it is to paint it blitz black and put a pink stripe on the back and do burn outs until the cops show up then you could always low ball em. Probably no harm in just aiming low $ and then build the car you love (over time). If you have money (side note: honestly you shouldn't even be looking at working on these cars if you have no money and means, lol, but that is me)

If your plan is to restore it to original for yourself or restore it to sell it then you have something where personally I would check the car out myself very closely and then I would try to get people to see it. For instance my best friend is a geat mechanic and car guy and then I would also tap any place I could for anybody who can say what they think it is worth and the road to completing a restoration. All in person! That is me though. I'm not in the business of restoring $200k classic cars though so i'm probably not the best to be talking about this :). All I know is I would be careful as hell or i'd atleast low ball and walk away if he is not down.
