My Alternator gauge reads 20+ all the time, even when key is on but engine not running.
When I turn on a/c it pulls to 30+
Everything is new on a complete restoration its a 511 cu in x 6pack with classic auto air.
Again everything is new redline gauges, elec ignition, wiring, vlt reg, alternator, everything.
Shouldn't the gauge read straight up or in the middle?
I've replaced the alternator just to be sure. checked Vlt regulator ground.
The car always starts and runs well but the gauge has me scratching my head.
Any advice appreciated.
