Rear window, no vinyl top, post car, 383, etc.
Ok I'm gonna ask a dumb question, did all superbirds come with a vinyl top? I never studied them much as they are not within reach for me.

All had a black vinyl top to cover the crude installation and "finish" of the rear window plug.

One (of a few) good ways to see if it's possibly a real Superbird is to look at the 2nd row from the bottom on the fender tag; this one shows a "113" (if I can read it) build date. All Birds are supposed to have a build date of "B30" (November 30th). And there's other easier ways to tell, as well. All Birds' VINs began with RM23x0A, the x signifying the only 3 engines available: 440 (U), 440-6 (V) and the 426 (R). In other words, the 5th character cannot be an "N" (383).

Yes, all Superbirds came with a vinyl top. The base engine was a 440, and all had PS and power disc brakes. There is also a unique piece of trim for the vinyl top to extend around the window plug. All Superbirds were RM23 cars. I agree it's a nice clone, but needs more work to play the part.

Nice looking car. I like the the rake. And looks clean without the vinyl top. But looks like a built car right away to some. Most probably don’t know the difference. I wonder what Hoovie’s is going to do with the RM23R0A he bought. It would be interesting to see what it really is.

No nose gasket/gap?
Yes, but that's not a sign of a fake/clone. More than one real one got that treatment, generally after a smack up and repair job. Cheryl and Pat's car is real shown here..

They just had it restored and it's now back to factory correct.

Did any of the wing cars come as a coupe? Another thing I don't know about with those....
