71/72 Satellite side chrome molding removal?

I have seen Satellites with the chrome body side molding which goes along the side of the car and above the wheels. Are there studs which hold the molding on? Do holes needs to be filled or studs ground down if the molding is removed? Thanks

My '72 Sebring Plus has studs with plastic clips. Year One has the clips listed as Vinyl top molding clips.

Yep. Took mine off.
There are studs that need to be ground down and holes that will need to be filled at the ends of the fenders and some at the roof. (if you have that trim too.)
It sure makes it clean looking without the trim.
