71 body color bumper question

When the 71 RR's came with body color bumpers, where they chrome bumpers that were just painted over, steel bumpers that were not chromed, or something else? Whats the option code for that on the Data plate?

They used the same steel bumper, but weren't chrome plated. They had a rubbery coating, then the paint. Hence the term 'elastomeric bumper'.

Ohhhh... I was unaware the B bodys got elastomeric bumpers as well.

Sure was. Here's a couple of pictures - '71 road runner and 71 Super Bee. I believe the b body code for those bumpers was A22. Anybody know for sure?

I ordered a dark green '71 RR in March, 1971 and it had the colored bumpers, had light and dark green interior, four speed car and I never saw another one. It looked great. Everybody that saw it talked about how good it looked. Sold it to my brother in law and that was the last I saw of it.
