Hi all,
I have an issue with the emergency brake dash light staying on even after I release the emergency brake. Few buddies suggested I check to see if the brake cable was dragging, it's new and was not. Other's suggested it might be the proportioning valve or switch on the emergency brake. I tried applying the brakes hard to see if that resolved the issue and it didn't.
The master appears fine, reservoir is full and no obvious leaks.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot before taking things apart?

I saw your GTX at the Spring Fling show - still looks great!

Try pulling the parking brake lever and lifting the pedal all the way to see if the light goes out.
Also try disconnecting the wire going to the parking brake, that will turn the light off.

If the light stays on after that then the issue is the proportioning valve - make sure the wire is on the connector snugly.

wish I had seen you there...it's been a while. If I pull the wire off the proportioning valve, everything works as it should. I checked and the connected when installed seems to make good contact with the switch on the proportioning valve. If everything works correct with the wire off, would that indicate defective switch on the valve?

I would say yes, it sounds like the switch on the valve.

FYI - I'll be at the Mopar show at Heart Lake Conservation Area coming up on June 7th.

Gonna take my Runner to it.
Hope to see you there.

Did you try just lifting the park handle and hold it to see if light gos off?
