Hello all I joined because I have an opportunity to buy a 1971 GTX its a 440 4bbl but the current owner has done some modes to the motor. I am hoping he
didn't use the original motor for this but if he did how hard would it be to change back if I can. All I know so far is heads and probably pistons and it only runs on flight fuel due to the motor changes.

So he made it a high comp race motor..............

It won't be too hard to make it a street driver, but you will have to tear down the engine.

trying to go back original everything else on the car cosmetic wise is still that way very clean looking car just worried about that motor

Depending on the compression.............you can use 91 pump gas and retard the timing. Without the actual specs it is hard for us to help you.

If the motor is well built I'm sure someone would trade you for a nice street motor.

I know basic maintenance on cars and few other things but this car I plan on getting back to original and then selling just worried about cost on putting it back i can get the car for 15k maybe 13k

Easy Peasy "No big deal" as long as the #'s matching block & trans is still there
IF that's what your worried about, #'s matching OE stuff !!
the heads are readily available, ignition stuff, acc. stuff,
camshaft, valve-train, drive-train, exhaust etc. etc. etc.,
the rest is just parts, just a rebuild or freshen up,
it's just $$$...LOL

welcome to FBBO

thank you al for your help
