Looks sharp, but are you sure that’s a 6193? Some component parts don’t look right; the front bowl should have an enclosed bowl vent valve, metering block should have a recess around the idle mixture screws for the idle mixture limiting caps.
i'm sure its a 6193
not sure how correct each component on it is.
some of it was missing and pieced together
how hard would it be to correct that stuff?
I would think the easiest part to find would be the enclosed bowl vent bowl, widely used on the OEM 4160’s 71’ and up. The metering blocks have part numbers stamped on them that will have to be matched to the list number application. Not sure how hard it will be to locate the block or that info; will have to locate a Holley part number break down for that list number. Check with Harms Automotive, I would be surprised if Scott didn’t have that info. Back in the day I had some 3” thick Holley number catalogs I used to study in my free time.
i see what you are saying..
i guess that these parts were changed out on this carb. arrhh
its hard enough to find one of them in the first place.
sigh
more money to throw at this thing..lol
i took it this far,i guess i will start hunting around for the right parts
i know of a few 6191 core carbs i could get my hands on
don't know if i will go to that extreme
i just dug this pic up of a nos 6193
thank you for all of the help and i'm very glad this was pointed out to me.
i found out the metering block is the correct numbered one for the carb
what i need is a different fuel bowl and vent parts
and a limiter cap.
all have been located (i don't waste time! lol)
and
now i have more parts to be sent out for plating.
The metering block casting should have a recess cast around the idle mixture screw to accommodate the limiting cap. The first picture in your above post appears to show a metering block without this recess, are you sure about the part number stamping and cross reference to the list number?
i spoke too soon about the metering block
right after i posted that i found out
it is the wrong one like you had pointed out.
i'm on the hunt for one now.
