OK, I have owned my share of mopars over the years and recently sold my cuda vert and said no more muscle cars. However I have my eye on a cheap 71 Satellite that would make a decent roadrunner clone down the road. It has its issues and its been a while so I have no idea what aftermarket parts are available for this rig or what I would have to find that is original and how pricey they are.

Right off the bat it would need a pass front bumper as there is a 72 fender on it. It would also need a front bumper as this one is tweaked. I see they make quarter panels, patch panels ect but dont see fenders available????

I dont know the 71 up B bodies but I want a driver that wont break the bank and I can do all body and paint myself. This was a column shift car with a 318 and a 150MHP speedo. But there is a three speed in it now and a floor shifter.

I know door panels dash ect are all priced like my E bodies but its the metal im curious on? WHATS AVAILABLE, WHATS HARD TO COME BY ECT?

Thanks for any suggestions. RUMBLON

fenders are one year only and nice ones are very pricey and hard to find
metal can be as expensive as e body or even more (doors, trunk lids all hard to find in nice shape)
bumpers they repop
regular rr hood = $$$ and hard to find
grabber hood $$$$$$ and hard to find
the repop grabber hood junk is way over priced
you are better off spending it on real.
grille = $$
missing wiper knob 50 bucks if you can find one
and for all of that you have to endure
you are not getting even close to e body prices when you sell it.
cheap and 71 b body do not belong in the same sentence...lol

Are 71 72 Fenders the same? Besides different Side marker lights

yup
both are not easy to find in nice shape
if you find a nice one for under 500 you are lucky..

Speaking from first hand experience in the process of building a 71 GTX, it can be a major pain sourcing decent parts for this year. Roof Skins, A-Pillars, Door Skins, Upper Cowl, side cowl panels, tail panel, and the list can keep going of all the PITA parts to find. If that car is for sale for $500, then imho, that is a steal just for parting out. From a cursory glance at those pics, there is plenty of meat on the bone to part out. Part it out, make some extra money, and keep looking for a better builder.

Need better pics of quarters and dutchman.

Stick your hand in the cowl and feel the base of the vent tubes.

Look carefully into the space between the door and side of cowl.

Car has 250 in seats and tracks, and another hundred plus in door panels.
