Hey everyone, I am putting what is assumed to be a 72 8 3/4 into my 73 charger. I understand that the 73 has rubber isolator stacks and different sized mounting holes for the leaf spring. What I want to know is if I could use 72 leaf springs so that I can avoid the rubber isolators, and if I could also use the 72 spring mounts on my 73 because they only make those hangers up to 72. I just don’t want to have to worry about the isolators. If I could basically just put a 72 assembly in the rear that would be great. Can I just basically bypass the whole rubber isolator deal.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I sourced a 72 rear end (8 3/4) and spring hangers, and got new leafs from ESPO for a 72... all for my 73 Charger. Yeah, I'm not hip on those isolators either.

Firm feel sells a kit to delete them for 72-79

So, firm feel sells reproductions of the original 72 & earlier design spring plates... Call it an ISO Delete kit & charge $425..... Yeah... Pass...
Agreed. I got a set of pre-73 mounts of a buddy of mine for $10

Don’t shoot the messenger. Maybe there is something more to them than that. Will 73 springs fit on the 72 plate or do you have to use all 72 parts?

You can use either... Te difference is the locator bolt which Firm Feel includes.. But they are easily sourced for a few $$$ so that don't justify the price..
