72 Satellite Gen III Hemi Restomod

Got the pedal assembly put back together and installed.

Not sure what this part is for. I thought it was a lower reinforcement plate for the bottom two holes, but it didn't line up with the hole pattern.

Clutch pedal firewall brace. Installs from the engine bay and provided the bolts for the outside clutch bracket.

Got the clutch master installed. Very little room for adjustment on the pedal and it still have full stroke. The bottom bolt also has to be installed backwards to clear the pedal. Slight bend added to the brake switch bracket as well to clear the linkage hardware.

I also got the new master and proportioning valve mocked up. The valve interfered with the fender well, so some gentle hammer persuasion was in order.

Next up is front brake lines.

I forgot to mention that I had to drill out the peg on my clutch pedal (after grinding off the welds). Not a fun process. I'll probably have to buy a drill bit sharpener now.

Following for your TKX progress. I’m gearing up to put a T56 Magnum behind the 400 in my ‘72.

Who did you get the trans stuff from?

I got all my Transmission stuff from Silversport. I did pick up the pedals from Brewer though as they were a bit cheaper and powder coated.

I'm in the progress of removing my heater box to one, redo it, but two to have access for routing my harness. I broke one of the mounting studs due to excess paint on the threads. Any thoughts on the best way to replace it? The heater box also did not want to come out from under the dash even with everything disconnected. I was unbolting as much from it as possible to get it to fit out from under the dash. I'm probably missing something and doing it the hard way. Now I have to take out my seat because the cable that allows the seat to move forward and back is broken.

Here's where I'm planning on mounting my Terminator X.

Figured I might as well take a look at the heater box since it looked suspect. The heater core looks ready to go at any moment so I'll go ahead and replace it. I also have some cracks in the plastic that'll need to repair. My rebuild kit should be here Monday. A good wire wheel went a long way today.

Who’d you go with for the new heater core? Four seasons?

I’m getting ready to do this also. Torn over reusing the evaporator as is or taking it to someone to get checked out. Would suck to do that much work only to take it back out because it’s leaking.

I got the OER3441180 from Mancini. My evaporator had a bunch of bent fins, but it held a charge OK so I'm going to keep it. I was able to straighten the fins out with a small screwdriver.

It's a lot of work, I only want to do it once. I'm hoping my rebuild kit has instructions because there is no foam left in my box.

My heater core was supposed to show up today but instead they sent me a bolt and a nut. So I'm a bit delayed. In the meantime I'm prepping the pieces to go back together. This part was gouged pretty bad by a cutoff wheel for some reason. Some epoxy and paint fixed that.

Also I don't like the natural look of the heater box below the dash. I had to fix a crack there as well so I gave it a nice coat of paint

I'll probably leave the back half natural since it'll never be seen.

Took a while to get my replacement heater core, but I now have the heater box put back together. Not as bad as I thought it would be. I'll hold off reinstalling until I add my pass through for the harness.

I also got my frame prepped for the Alterktion suspension coming soon.

Why not go with drive by wire? I'm a huge holley fan so holler if you need any help with it.

When I was evaluating the cost difference between the Terminator X max and X and the cost of a drive by wire pedal it was a wash. I figured getting a cable throttle body to work was going to be easier than retrofitting a DBW accelerator pedal into the car. Turns out I was probably wrong. If I had to do it again, I probably would have gone with a DBW TB, but I'm already this far in.

I am in the same boat. Lol. I regret not using a dbw throttle body as the cable and linkage, IAC, etc, are a pita.

I started looking at how I'm going to route my Terminator harness and I'm not coming up with a lot of good ideas. The AC heater box takes up a lot of space and there's not a lot of cable length to work with. What entry point has anyone else used? I considered going into the wheel well and then back in, or through the cowl and back in, but neither of those seem ideal. I've got a low spot near the trans tunnel, but probably not enough cable to route to where I want to mount the computer.

I moved the battery to the trunk and placed the ecm and fuse box in that spot

Got my RMS suspension delivered today and started some of the preliminary work. I've been waiting on parts and doing some small stuff so not a lot of progress recently.

Also forgot to install the clutch brace, so I went back and took care of that.

Also, anybody have a recommendation for wiper motor refurbishment? One of the guys that is commonly recommended here is local to me, but I haven't heard back from him so I'm open to other options.
