I recently bought a 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus. The clock is not working and I’m trying to remove the instrument panel to remove the clock. I removed all the visible screws and dropped the steering column. The panel moves but won’t come out more than an inch. I know the speedometer cable needs to be disconnected but the problem appears to be the heater-a/c controls. The factory manual says remove the control assembly mounting screws, disconnect the wiring harness and control cable and then remove the control assembly. I’m sure this is a simple operation but I can’t figure it out (draw your own conclusions :icon_lol:). Help! Dave

I never have to remove the a/c controls to pull the dash.

First I disconnect the battery. I then start by removing the radio.

Then, After disconnecting the speedometer and a/c vacuum, electrical connections and heater control cables ( depending on option), I reach up and pull the connector from the light switch and wiper to allow you to tilt it out enough to disconnect the gauges and clock. Also remember that all the accessory and battery power runs through the ammeter. If you don't disconnect the battery... You will arc the electrical and could fry some of the gauges or voltage limiter.... Besides scaring the poop out of yourself...

Photograph and/or label all the other dash and lighting connectors before you pull them. You will thank me later.

There are also at least two screws holding the bottom of the dash which are not visible that are accessed from the back behind the lower dash frame.

Once all the above has been disconnected or removed the dash will tilt enough for you to get it out.

Good luck
