Hello all,

Thanks for the help/advise provided thus far in my 727 rebuild. This is a street application that will live behind a ~550hp big block. I am using red clutches/kolene steels, along with a CRT auto valve body. My question is, what are your thoughts on using a blocker rod behind the accumulator piston? I understand the accumulator acts as to cushion shifts, but which shifts? Pros/cons of blocking?

Thanks.

I understand the accumulator acts as to cushion shifts, but which shifts? Pros/cons of blocking?

It firms up the 1-2 shift and reduces 2-3 shift overlap.

Blocking it?

Blocking the accumulator firms the 1-2 upshift, no affect on any other upshifts.

I do not recommend it
just get the transgo TF reprogramming kit and put it in
changing one thing can affect other things and reliability

Ask CRT, that is the valve body right? Different shift kits recommend different setups with the blocker rod or not.
