Does anyone have the specs for a dipstick tube o-ring. Doesn't seem to be available as that part from the autoparts and I don't have time to order one online. If it is a standard o-ring size and material I may be able to get from grainger next day. Thanks.

hardware stores sell o-rings take your ds tube and fit one. Could measure od of tube at o-ring depression and buy one with the same id. Plumbing supply also has o-rings.

Yeah, I think someone who input those numbers was smoking the wacky tabacky....

3/4" OD is probably right 5/16" ID no, don't think so...

FWIW every time I've tried a standard O ring it's leaked... They are a slightly odd size..

It you actually want it to stop leaking I suggest

I was going to say, check the area where the "O" rings go into the tube. I had a tube that was cracked in that area. Some Mopar AFT RTV sealed it as i didn't have another tube at the time.

Thanks for all the input. I don’t have a leak (yet), just a tube with no o-ring as I am putting things together. Great info, Thanks again.

Just changed mine last week. Got the replacement at NAPA, didn't trust the sizing in my Chinese o-ring kit.
O'Reilly's and AutoZone don't have the right size ones anyway.there clueless if ask them about one for a old car.got one at napa as well

Isn't that what the silly-cone is for? It's worked for me in the past!
silly-cone= silicone

One thing I will add is the tube brace that bolts to the bell / block has to lay on the bolt hole free.
Once you install your o ring if you have to push ,pull , bend to get the tube bolted down your mashing the ring one one side and will have a leak.
Make your adjustments before the oring goes on.

Doesn't it need to be a neoprene O ring that the trans fluid will not destroy? I think a plain rubber O ring like for plumbing will quickly fail in oil.
