I have a street/strip roadrunner with a torqueflite that has a cheetah manual valve body. This trans has been a great component and still shifts great while driving conservatively. It has endured some harsh conditions on the strip and street (when the money was right). I have a 175 hp shot of nitrous for security if you know what I mean. Anyway, lately, under hard acceleration it just doesn't want to go to 3rd gear. I have to decelerate or completely lift to get into 3rd. I'm thinking the clutch's are worn but what do you Moparite's think?

You dont have the throttle pressure rod hooked up do you ? Ron

I have the kickdown lever on the trans tied back as it has been tied back for the last 12 years.

Likely the relief ball in the high drum- there is a little ball bearing in the hub face- if this does not work it will not shift to 3rd under high load

Your not supposed to have it on at all.... Not forward or back.... arm removed completely.
