And confirming... just red and gold were. Not black or parchment which are standard on rallyes and spring special ( respectively)

Thanks for posting all this info Nacho.....first time I have seen a picture of what my car looked like new...thanks much...

I removed the front bumperettes on my '73 Charger SE, but left the rear ones on. I don't think the rears look bad, but the front looks a lot better without them. Besides, the rears will come in handy if someone rear ends me.
Started driving my '73 today. I really like that car. It's great out on the highway. Not much wind noise. Head winds and cross winds don't affect it much. It has a fairly stiff suspension but still gives a smooth ride. Corners well. Yes, I really like that car.

we've got a 1974 Charger (factory slant six!) with the Parchment Brown/Gradated stripes - anyone know where to get repops??

That certainly seems to be a Spring Special car! It should get A77 code on Tag or buildsheet.

The only manufacturer/seller for these is Phoenix Graphics. $300 for a non completelly correctly color matched set ( no matter the "authentic reproduction" label they get )... not at least correctly made on the red version. If wasn't for that, maybe i already had bought those for my car in red.

Nacho, in looking at your posted info I now know my factory black car has the Ralley package stripes. It has been repainted and I can still see the side stripe, which you said was probably red, but lists the rear deck tape as black only. It is there. So, did they put a black stripe on a black car on the rear? There is no sign of a stencil around or covering the bulge hood....so was that left off cause it being black...thanks much...

Well it seem black stripe could be also ordered on black cars? Per 73 catalog at least

But can’t imagine factory installing black stripes ( ghost stripe ) on black car... or maybe yes?

Thank you. My engine tag has TX9 stamped twice in the same line. First one is the exterior color I think , but do not know what the second one is for. Looks like from the chart stripe had to be green or white....hhhhmmmmnn Also have V4X stamped, but see that is for a black vinyl roof code. Also have H6X9, which looks to say vinyl side stripes...thanks...

Ok then, I do not have V6X or V6R on the engine bay metal tag...should one be there. A PO painted the car by painting over the stripe and I am pretty sure it is a factory graphic. But, guess the dealers could /would install one if buyer requested one at purchase.....thanks much....

No A57 on the tag. Ahh haaa, does that mean a PO just dressed her up as a Rally car.

Lynch road cars never got the Rallye code on fender tag at least, but some of the related parts of the package were still coded, such as the Rallye stripe, rear sway bar I guess &/or bulged hood ( not necesarilly the performance treatment, unless was made of course )

Can't recall if still with the A57 code, the Rallye stripe would be coded OR just if was diff from the black one ( i.e. Red one ) since black was the standard. I know some weird Rallyes were stripe delete. Someome posted one pic of his Rallye delete car recently

Nacho, just found the build sheet that was in my car. Not sure if it is the original one for my car as the cars vin number is not on the sheet. Of course the exterior color is correct, TX9, and on the stripe spot , it lists V7X as 1st and nothing in 2nd spot. Your post shows that as a black stripe. On the legible spots on the sheet, I cannot see A57 anywhere. So, not sure now if it was a factory Ralley car. Where would that be if it was a rally car on the sheet. But it is odd that your chart shows no black stripe, V7X, available with black exterior, TX9, and my sheet shows just exactly that...ha ha go figure. thanks much....

V7X stripe is pinstripe! I don’t think you’ll ever find a pinstripe color on same body color or not making a high contrast.. that shows as obvious afirmation looking at the rest of chart with white and green pinstripes options

but very “interesting” buildsheet as less LOL.

A lynch road car won’t show the A57 code on fender tag but buildsheet certainly will.

do you have rear sway bar? Bulged hood?

I do not have the rear sway bar but the bolts are in there as if it was removed from the frame. I do not know how or where a sway bar is mounted to the rear axle. Are there any tabs welded on the axle. That may have swapped out too. I have the bulge hood with hood pins. Ok , the plot thickens. RT just told me the build sheet shows a 2 bbl 400 with auto tranny. There is no vin on the build sheet that ties with the vin on the fender tag and dash and he says there should be. I now think a PO swapped in the interior and auto from a donor car....thus the build sheet under rear seat is for a different car. He also said rear axle to be a 8 3/4 , 2.56 ratio but I am not sure how to tell the difference between an 8 3/4 and 8 2/5 yet.
My plan is to drop the k member and axle and get the underside cleaned up and painted before I get the body ready for paint. Then I will try to use some paint reducer on the rally stripes and see if I can determine exactly WHAT color strips are under a layer of paint. my curiosity is now peaked as to whats there ha ha. thanks much....

This is how sway bars links to axle, using an intermediate plate between axle and springs

73/74 on top

72 on bottom

rear sway bar with isolator clamp mounted(1a).jpg
rear sway bar without isolators mounted(1a).jpg

and plates even same idea, the diff due the isolation, so 73/74 is molded to fit into the iso clamps, but 72 is flat.
