This spring when I get the car out of storage I plan to replace the front disk brake rotors, and while I am at it, I might as well do wheel bearings too. Do any of you know which bearing set to use for the outer bearings? All online lists I check show the same bearings for the inners (ie Timken Set17). However the listings for the outer bearings differ depending on where you look. Some lists say Timken Set2 whereas others say Timken Set16 for the Plymouth, but almost universally the Charger listings say Set2. The Timken catalog says Set16 for Plymouth and Set2 for Dodge.
According to my Chrysler parts catalogue, the R and W bodies both use the same steering knuckle part number, and same bearing part numbers.
Anyone had this experience before? I am thinking that the right answer is Timken Set2 (or SKF BR2).
Obviously the best answer is to measure up the bearing currently installed, but was hoping to get the parts assembled ahead of time since parts can be hard to find these days with all the supply chain issues.
Thanks for the help...
