Hello everyone, great site. I've just returned to Mopars after a 30 year absence. Man do I miss the eail of a 440. I just purchased a 73 Road Runner that appears to be a pretty good find. It shows 13,000 on the odo and the current owner has had is stashed in dry storage since 1989. Originally a 340 auto but has no motor or trans. Very nice original paint, stripes and interior. Fender tag codes out properly. Story goes it was a drag car by original owner who he got it from. BB K frame, mechanical tach on dash, fuel pump in trunk, 8 3/4 with 3.91's, seems legit and not cut up. NO RUST anywhere, will need a detailing underneath but really clean and paint seems untouched and in great shape. I had one back in the 80's when I was "young", so it's nostalgic for me and I like how it looks. I plan to build it how I want it, 440 4 speed however I am debating whether to go stone stock resto or maybe set it up to honor its drag racing past with black steelies and street slicks, leave tach on the dash and do a day two vibe. I've already scored an ATK 440 with 440source aluminum heads and comp xe275hl from a nice man who upgraded to a better engine. There is a vendor on Ebay who sells complete 4 speed conversion kits with a properly built A833 overdrive. So I'm pretty anxious to start build. I would like to hear opinions. Thanks, Jack
