I just brought home a Roadrunner that has a dragging starter. (slow turn when hot) This is a high dollar show car with 52k original miles. Further it mak be a "one of one" or certainly "one of a few" with close to $2,000 on options on the base RR. I have the original window sticker.

Should I replace the starter with a high torque starter? I sure like the fast start that these starters give.

I would check all of the cables and connections first, then if you need a starter it wont hurt to put one in!
If it is all original and you want to keep it that way have your old one rebuilt and re-install that is the way i would go!
They are only Original once so try to keep all of the original parts if you can.try a cleanup of the cables and Battery terminals first..
Sometimes a bad a loose cables and corrosion around the batteries would give you that problem!
Hope this helps...
Any pics?
Would love to see em if you got em..
