Ive finally decided to start the transformation of my column shift bench seat car to a floor shift column bucket seat with console.

My question is: Are there and considerations when switching columns? I wasnt sure if the switch would affect the neutral safety switch etc. Is it simply a bolt in process? Harness the same?
I ve had the old colum down to do some dash work but havent pulled it out.

Do I need to add a switch to the floor shift for back up lights? (Im running an after market shifter without a switch)

Thanks for any help.

I might be wrong, but I believe the switch for the back-up lights is located in the transmission. I did the swap in my 74 Road Runner and didn't swap the column out, but I did remove the shift lever so there is no more shifting done via the column and the back-up lights work fine.
