I know the 74's have the seatbelt switch/sensor but does it no allow the engine to crank or start if ur not buckled in? Dont know if mine has been bypassed/unplugged.

It sounds like the best thing to do would be to jump the wires at the override switch. Then you avoid having to mess with any of the seat or buckle switches. What an awful system. If there are more than two wires going into the override then you'll need to get a wire diagram.

i just got the wiring harness from a 73 and got rid of it all!

it is under the hood. Here is the page from the parts book. Right click "view image" should bring it to full size.

What's the box beside the icm?

I have a bypass switch if you're interested.

Ok, the car fired and ran yesterday with no problems. Looked under the seats and no rails/sensors or box in the engine bay. The vin shows 1974 but date of mfg is 10-1973

if canadian model, you could not to get a sensor on driver seat, but yes on the rest. Probably neither the override switch on engine bay

74s got sensors on female seatbelt buckle, not anymore on retractors like earlier years.

at a side of glovebox, you should get the control box... orange, is Canadian... blue is Federal USA for auto cars... white for manuals

Found the reset switch, car will crank at relay but not with key. It's being picky again. How do you bypass the interlock system? Pics/vids?

THE EASIER WAY TO BYPASS THE INTERLOCK SYSTEM IS JUMP OUT BOTH YELLOW WIRES AT RESET BUTTON PLUG

( sorry the caps )

4 wires in total... other two wires are one blue ( RUN circuit ) and black ( ground attached to wiper motor firewall stud )

Get a couple "suitcase" connectors, run a short wire between the two yellow wires.
