74 Charger SE, trunk paint?

I have a 74 Charger SE, and I’m wondering what was correct regarding the trunk being painted body color??? The car is a bit of a survivor and there was no original avocado gold in the trunk area, just flat black. I see some survivor pictures where the trunk area is body color and some that are black. The car is now a bright metallic green. The car was built at the Lynch Road plant. Thanks.

Great…that’s what I thought. You know if someone starts or goes through a resto, why wouldn’t you do it like it is supposed to be!!! Obviously they spent time and money doing this. Fortunately the rest of the car is fairly accurate. Thanks, appreciate it.

Engine bay looks fairly decent. Needs a bit of work. It’s going in shortly for touch up work. Probably get the trunk done at the same time.

Why are you worried about the trunk color when the car itself is the wrong color anyway. Making the trunk the different wrong color is the same as being black to people that care about originality. Your car looks cool, you could drive it instead of putting it in paint jail.
