I have a 74 Roadrunner/GTX, is this a rare car, does anyone have any info as to how many were built, it is a u code car.

Depending on who you talk to and where you get your info, the production number may be as low as 79 made. Per the Motorbooks International Dodge & Plymouth Muscle Car Red Book, the number is 79. But there is a lot of debate on how accurate that number is. I have a real U code GTX as well, pretty plain, black with the deluxe white interior. It is currently a restoration project. So to answer your question, they are either rare or extremely rare.

About 15 years ago, a buddy of mine bought one in tripple black with a sunroof.....for $500, and then sold it for $1500.

Back then we were told by the folks at Mopar Muscle mag- about 250 RR/GTX produced, no idea how many with s/r.

DOH!!

RM21U4......386 made RARE

A guy I knew in Ocala, Fl. had one with a sunroof!!

The most credible source lists 386 SHIPPED for sale in the US. Since Canada sold and export cars are unaccounted for, there is no way to know exactly how many were made.

Either way, it's a low production car.

There are lots of errors in that book. I wouldn't rely on it as a source for production numbers.
