I am replacing the K frame on my 74 Roadrunner (big block, 4 speed car). I am concerned about geometry and alignment. Using Poly K frame bushings and there is a lot more center bolt free play. Replacing small block k frame with a bb K frame from a 74 Charger SE. I have resolved oil pan issue with #971 oil pan. (by the way, a 966 oil pan will not work) Motor is suspended. I see some small holes in front of K member that appear to line up with frame rail holes when I insert a long punch. Is this correct? Or is there something I am missing.

You are correct . Most subframes that are on bushings have alignment holes. I use an old tire iron with end ground to a point.

I actually see no mention of this in the Chassis service manual for 73. Its only stressed about the rear drivers side height shims.

Nothing in my 74 manual as well. I have asked several of my Mopar friends in the area but no one recalls this?? Had several issues just getting it lined up... 966 C body oil pan pushed K frame forward. Discovered the small holes in front of K frame when we were trying to push K frame back to start bolts.

I changed mine back in 2002 one side at a time with a jack and removed the strut rods and prided up the k frame with a bar, the 73 factory manual reads to remove all at one with a lift and jacks, did this in my driveway, took me 5hrs but all worked out and the car handled well stiffer in the cornering, no mush, lined up perfect no shims were installed no shims were present when I removed the original rubber and bolts. car aligned properly also, all front end parts have been changed also.
