74 runner wiper linkage

Has anyone been down this road? The passenger side wiper does not work. I took the plastic cowl cover off and found the plastic grommet that holds the linkage together has broken. I messed around with it for hours but I think both of the pivots have to come out to attach the arms then re-assembled. Is this correct or has anyone come up with a trick.
Funny thing is I had an extra plastic connector..yeehaww after putting that one on and trying to attach the arm the other one broke..To funny, some day's you can't win for trying.

It sucks not having wipers.

I was amazed that Mopar still has those grommets as of last year. I picked some up (of course this was before the crash, the bankruptcy and the closing of my local Dodge dealer) at my local Dodge parts dept.

Sorry I don't have a parts number. I think I found the number at Allpar.com.

Some small C-clamps would work fine also.

I have also found these at my local O'Reillys, had to do my 72 Charger not long ago and found its best to replace all of the grommets since they are a PAIN to do !! Getting pretty good at it, actually...:no:
