8&3/4 rear I.D. ?????

My father and I have a 62 Savoy, the motor and driveline are not original to the car so we are trying to I.D. The rear just so we know what’s in it. Unfortunately the casting numbers aren’t anything we are familiar with, although we have seen some close, but still having some trouble/doubts of what it may be. 489? Maybe….

There were no '489 style 8-3/4s back when that one was made, IIRC.
 
57 -64. Same as a 742
Yep and you can get different ratio's than the newer center sections. I have one that is a sure grip 4:11 and a mopar guy was telling me that was Chevy so I showed him a picture and never heard from him again. Got to love the internet!!
