Didn't see Dildo Baggins anywhere.

Chrysler owned a portion of Diamond Star Motors, hence the Mitsubishi built cars with Chrysler name plates. It went from the mid 70's through the 90's. I owned a Conquest in 1989. Fast little turbo car and a blast to drive, but there was nothing Chrysler about it except the name.
Chrysler owned 50% of Diamond Star, but also owned 20% of Mitsubishi itself. All sold off years ago though. But the more recent 2.4 'world engine' design was shared between Chrysler, Mitsubishi and Hyundai as well. Chrysler bought back the other companies shares in 2009

My wife bought a 1991 Plymouth Laser brand new and still has it, it was built in the USA.

I had a 92 laser 5 speed. It was a quick little stinker built by diamond star in Illinois I think.

Saw one yesterday on an old iron lot, had to get a little look,. Just needed paint, interior ,top, tires, but at 4k obo it was easy to walk. The body was clean, had 83k on it.

I bought one new in 82.
A lot of people mock them but it was probably the best car Chrysler offered at the time.
I hated that they used the Challenger name, but a well built car.
