833 trans oil

Anyone used Penszoil Steinway oil in a833 4/s

I’ve used Pennzoil synchromesh. Not sure about steinway

I like it. I haven’t tried to many different types of transmission oil. I’ve got an 18 spline 833 and the pennzoil works well. Quieted it down and it shifts smooth.

I have Syncromesh in my freshly rebuilt 833 23 spline. It shifts better than the t5 in my fox body

I use Amsoil 75W-90 "GL-4" good with/for Brass internals..

I synthetic and my 18 spline hemi trans leaked like a sieve. Went back to dino oil and sealed right up - no leaks. My 2 cents.

I rebuild alot of 4 speeds and only run Synthetic with no leaks ever...maybe time to reseal it, 4 speeds have several areas they can leak from.
