91 dodge pickup cooling issue

Been having some cooling issues while plowing snow.With the plow on going down the highway the temp keeps creeping up no mattter what position the plow is in.Do i need to add a electric fan?Or is there something i need to change with the clutch fan?Give me your thoughts.
 
Wonder if it is in need of an tranny cooler. Maybe the temp of the trans fluid making it heat up. When was the last time you radiator was flow checked? There could be a senser or computer issue as well. I'll look in myu manuals when I get a chance.
 
Its fine with the blade off and just gets hot mainly traveling down the hwy.I can drop the blade so it just clears the road and the grille fully exposed and it still gets warm.Would it help to eliminnate the clutch fan and put a non clutch one on it?How does the clutch part work?Someone explain it to me.Has to be a cure,guys in this area run around all winter with the blade left on.
 
You may need a new clutch for the fan. Don't get rid of it. It keeps spinning at a higher speed when you are stopped to help cool. You are gonna have to start somewhere and start checking if they are doing there job.
 
Generally, at highway speeds the fan does nothing. Most of the cooling comes from air rushing through the radiator (the fan comes into play while idling and at low speeds) and as you know, your plow is blocking that air. On many cars much of the cooling air also comes from the bottom under the bumper fascia. That would explain why it still runs warm with the plow down. Plus, even though the plow is down, it's still pushing air up and away from the radiator opening. If it's fine with the plow off, chances are there's nothing wrong with your fan clutch. Here's a link to a forum with some good info. Looks like maybe removing the fan clutch and installing a spacer might work? Although I've also read that installing a new fan clutch worked for some. Also, maybe try driving with the plow angled to allow more air in from the side?

What are the air temps? Do you have good antifreeze in it? Is your water freezing in the radiator? When was the last time the rad was serviced? I assume this is a gas engine? Man, I have a diesel that I can block 90% on a 70* day and it runs normal temps so long as it's moving....but diesels usually run cooler. Something doesn't sound right with this so the more info you can give us, the better we can help.....
 
Took the truck on a 100 mile round trip last night to pick up a vintage sled with the plow removed,and no overheating issues.So not enough air flow with the plow on and i think it has the wrong shroud.It isnt tight to the radiator,has a 1/2" gap all the way around it.

Yes, the shroud should be competely sealed and the fan blades are supposed to be half in/half out of the shroud.
