Donny, that would be badass. Those are nice cars. Even nicer with a HEMI

In May of 79 i bought a deTomaso Mangusta......a Guy i knew special ordered one of these....orange.....35k in 79......i paid 16k for the goose.......i stopped by His house.....He turned smartass. questiong my purchase disdainfully......"why'd you buy that when you could have had one of these?"....since only 401, Hand Made geese ever left factory in prototype form, i replied,.."well **** Bill, anybody can have a 928!" the goose was an undeveloped prototype,
all the right hardware just not well sorted, the Porchuh is a faster, more reliable car by far, but the pose of a goose, & the vibe, the mystique the ornriness, the sheer terror out of control, purely its own universe.....one sold last year for 332K.......i wonder if Bill remembers the day He was being a smartass?
You are thinking of re motoring the Porsche'?

My mother had a 1978 928. Very cool car, but the bastard of the Porsche line-up. It was also VERY high up-keep. I know they are either very cheap or expensive these days. My buddy has my ma's old car, and he's always buying stuff for it, although he never drives it. He'd also lose he ***, if he sold it.

The motor was full of water. The car came in to a local Dodge dealer as a trade-in. The salesman personally bought it and he has been screwing with it for 3 yrs, never fully solving the gremlins. This is the same salesman I have bought my trucks from. Last week I was at the dealer getting my oil changed. This same salesman is now the Used Car manager at another store for the same company, I went and said hello and we made small talk. He then asked me if I know anyone who wants a Porsche 928? I inquired more, we worked out a very agreeable cost for me to acquire the car, and now it's mine.

It has a lot of receipts for lots of money in it. The car came from Massachussets originally, there is tell-tale signs of like one drive in the wintertime, but this car has been very well cared for until it got to Texas! This car has some issues. I started off with the motor was full of water. The last motor I got (Mustang) that was full of water ended up as junk. My plan is to pull the motor and assess. I like how these 928 motors make power starting at 4,000 rpm and tap out like 6500 rpm with 320hp. This car is one reason why I want to move my GTX, yes, GTX is for sale, all the parts and new stuff!

Can you pm a parts list donny, I'm stock piling parts. For my 70. Thanks

Classic line, too

Donny, i was bumping around utube, came across this, thought it would work for You....917 flat 12 start after 30 years. I almost bought a 904 once, watched it run a slalom.....one hard *** to follow.....if You're bored & poking around, check my chopped bug project....just dial up my treads, the bug will be self evident....has a 67 911 S t-axle in it & a hand fabbed front sub & suspension, done by a gent Who used to build Lotus Seven chassis.....im hanging a lexus 4.0 litre V-8 off the Porchuh axle, have the KEP fresh cnc'd flywheel, 228mm clutch kit & adaptor plate, busy w/ sculpture @ moment, but engine should be hung middle of march.
Flat 12 has a bitchen note. bc/jimi

That's a cool video! I'm not from S.Antonio, the US Army brought me here, and I stayed here, why not...far better economic scene that back home in NH!

The Germans are fabulous engineers. When I was stationed in Stuttgart I went to Zuffenhausen a few times, the museum, the factory and wandered as long and as far as I could in 1990-92 (when I was in Stuttgart before moving to Heidelberg then Augsburg) admiring and being inspired seeing the Porsche workers pushing 911 Bodies from one bldg to another on body dolly's! Yes, this is what inspired me to make my Rotisseries, Dolly's and such tools to aid my work here and now! One thing about the Germans is they are deliberate. Every piece of their cars' make up is there for a reason, as such if one can grasp this, then you should be able to unlock the methods to how they do things.
