A/C not working on max ac

Hello all i have an issue with my ac in my 69 charger it works perfectly on normal ac but when you switch to max ac it switch the compressor off and nothing works any ideas why this would happen

Problem is in the push button switch.

Opps, I misread your initial post. That does sound like the control unit.

Everything is new including vacuum switch on the control unit
