Let's have a moment of thought, for our troops lost on this day in 1941. We should never forget this day, or the loss of any of our troops....ever.

Most definitely!!

5:55AM and not a single story about Pearl Harbor on MSN. I am willing to bet they don't even teach it in school anymore either.

My Uncle Barney was aboard the USS Nevada, topside for church services that morning. He never talked about it to anyone other than his oldest daughter. After the attack, he spent the next few days doing body recovery.

RIP Gunner's Mate, First Class.

Thanks to all who served and continue to serve.

My grandfather was almost stationed there except for the fact that if he went there he would have lost his vacation time, so he passed.

He was a civilian government contractor who was in charge of shipping/receiving ordance.

On a side note today also happens to be my oldest sons 24th birthday. We brought him up to know the importance of today as well.

I've been to the Arizona memorial twice, Gave me chills both times, RIP to these brave souls. I will always have the greatest amount of respect and pride for the bravest, most resourceful generation of our times.

Most boomers don't know the truth about the attack and why/how the US entered that war.
I am a boomer, have read and studied many aspects of the different wars through the ages. I think there a large number of boomers on the site, if you use 1946-1964 as the guideline.

not really......... but we did surrender our educational system and news media to the commies, buyer beware
Its all about the money Mark, that is whats wrong with our country. Im a blue collar worker and they dont give a $hit about us workers. This is our political leaders.

OOOH...Fill us in, all knowing one.
The Thread is to honor fallen sailors and soldiers. Go to the politics thread to enlighten everyone, with your historical knowledge.

Thank you for your sacrifice to all who contribute to keeping our country safe. I cannot imagine the world as it could have been. Arizona memorial.
