A Pillar removal questions?

I am going to start removing my rusted out A Pillars on my 71 GTX and wanted some advice on how to best tackle this job. Mine are pretty rusted out and it is hard to see how everything fits together. Looking for pics of how these are attached and how I should brace the car.
