Hi!
i have big problem with my 42rh trans, itr been rebuilt two times but its slipping and rew up when shifting from second and third gear, i first had a valve body with a transgo shift kit so i tried a stock valve body but its only get worse, i tried to adjust the kickdown cable but no effect , its in a belvedere with a stroked 360. what should i do, at moment i just want to set fire on the car and problem gone, what is wrong with the trans.

When does it slip? Every gear? Third gear? Do the rpm's flare on the 2-3 shift only or also on the 3-4 shift? Who built the trans?

It only slips and rew up from 2 to3 gear but if i go with light trottle it shift ok.

Not sure on your trans, but on a regular 727, the kick down band is applied in second. Then on the 2-3 upshift, the high clutch applies as the K/D band releases. My 727 trans was doing the same thing, revving up when shifting 2 to 3, especially after warm up. It was the high clutch going bad. I believe it is the front clutch.

It can be that, i taking it out in the weeken [third] time and let Another expert look at it

I tried fixing mine with a trans go kit, too. It helped a little. Those kits raise the fluid pressure which puts more force applying the clutches and bands. I finally put in a stock 727 with 50 K miles on it. Came off a 383 2 barrel motor, so it had easy miles on it. I Used the valve body with the trans go kit in it, and now it shifts instantly from 2 to 3rd. As well as 1st to 2nd.

You can raise or lower the line pressure by changing the regulator spring on the valve body. And I turned mine in 4 turns from start position. That is the max amount they say to go. Usually reserved for serious street/strip vehicles.

Or should i give up this Trans and go for a 727 but i want the overdrive it is 450 hp in the engine so maybe the a500 not going to last for the engine.

What gary said. There is a piston in the bottom of the drum below the clutches and steels. Likely the seals on the piston(has an inner and outer) are leaking pressure.
