I always thought the Ford Falcon XB - for all the '71 Mustang and '69 Torino influences it had - still makes me think '73 Barracuda on first glance because of the grill. It is the first thing my brain processes when I see one of these from any front 3/4 view.

Then again, I'll gladly sit in front of a '70, 72, or '73 Plymouth E-body and stare at it for a couple of hours; I'll give preferential treatment to any grill that looks like it :)

It's a real brain twister to see any of these with the nose scoops too; here in the States, those scoops are associated with the 1971-73 Mustang.

Even stranger is that the aftermarket has grafted '71-73 Mustang nose scoops and bulges onto everything imaginable. You can get them for foxbody Mustangs, F150's, Dakotas (!) and I've seen them grafted into the hood of an A-body Dart too.

The foreign market car/body styles
are a completely different subject all together...

ive wondered a few times about the roofline on this project.
from the sides,the car looks,like a satellite?
im hoping when its all together itll even out more and show the cuda lines more.
maybe its just the angle of the side view pic?
That is because he used upper glass frame rails from a b body so that the side glass from the b body would work

But with your confrontational attitude......

It appears you have your facts backwards. I have no idea who you are. I never knew a thing about you until YOU made the choice to comment on MY threads about MY car in a negative, condescending and criticizing manner. That makes YOU the confrontational one, not me. If you don't like the way i DEFEND my position towards the insults constantly posted by you, then stop confronting me! You claim to be the poor innocent victim but you stalk what I do, follow this project every single day and even go around showing your co-workers what I am doing. You obviously have issues that you need to take care of. If you think the story, the car, the appearance, etc.......is so ridiculous, stop wasting your time obsessing over every move I make or what I'm doing. For someone who is so against this Concept project, you sure spend a lot of time following and writing about its imaginary existence.

.
im pretty much stuck there because mad max was my intro to the xbgt, which i still want 1 yesterday.
i immediately saw the torino influences, and with that custom nose, didnt see the resemblance to the cudas till years later when i saw a stock version.

agreed on the scoops too,but figured it was ford so it was right. :)

they made some really sweet looking mopars over there in the land of Oz too And,
those guys made 4 door musclecars, which is awesome all by itself.

as far as body shapes go,
it might be interesting to see a better side view of the aussie version?

You, sir are delusional. Take a pill. I never insulted you. Nothing I have said is condescending or criticizing. I am no stalker. I have never called you a derogatory name. You, sir have PM'ed me, called me all sorts of derogatory things and threatened me with physical harm. Keep up your nonsense here and the world will see you for who you really are.people see right thru your bullying and ranting.

thanks for the reply
sometimes you do what you have to to get the job done...
improvise,adapt,overcome.

ive wondered a few times about the roofline on this project.

What Chargerjy9 doesn't know is that the entire Door openings and surrounding Window Frames were never altered as he incorrectly stated. The Belt-line was lowered to accommodate the side profile of a stock 1970 Barracuda. He keeps talking about the "greenhouse" look of the Roof when it was LOWERED just over an inch. He claims Chrysler wouldn't have engineered anything like that. THEY OBVIOUSLY DID! The Front and Rear Door openings on this project Car are stock 4 Door B Body openings! We didn't alter the openings or sizes of the stock Doors. So when he says that we altered the Frames and made the "green house" effect, it is a blatant lie! The openings are STOCK Chrysler 4 Door issue and we did not alter the original perimeter shapes or design.

So when he criticizes the Door openings on this Car, he is criticizing the original design that was manufactured by Chrysler. (LOL)

You, sir have PM'ed me.....

Then stop INITIATiNG & sending me PM's and I will not RESPOND. YOU opened pandora's box and now want to act like the poor innocent victim. Any fool would know it's IMPOSSIBLE that I have started trouble with ANY of you naysayers by the fact that I didn't come looking for you with regards to my project. I posted the project build and YOU came forward with your criticism and insults. That's the ONLY way I even knew that you existed. Get your facts straight.

Again, sir you make stuff up. I NEVER said that. Read it again. I said that you used B Body side glass. It only follows that the door frames couldn't be altered. I said that you altered the green house to fit around the existing glass. You stated that a long time ago. I am aware they are stock b body upper glass frame openings , I said that. What I said was aesthetically they don't work. Never said anything about the 4 door shutfaces. I know they are stock to fit the doors. You made up that statement too. I said no lies.

i most deffo never pmed you like that, its not my style.
i never intended any huge blowup, nor drama central.
every question was my own from my own natural curiousity.

so,i let it go,didnt say anything, but i could see theres still strife there so i created this topic to move it here..
get it all sorted, everyone gets it off their chest, life goes on?

I PM'ed you to extend an olive branch, but you threatened me. I tried to make nice and you chose the bully route,

see what would be nice here is we know that stuff happened,
but if we can get past that and you two can actually maybe work together, communicate, send smoke signals, hell i dunno,
find out who knows what? in the design crews and execs from ma mopar?
then we would be making progress......

Hmmmm, could one of these have been the mysterious "Cuda" 4-door that said mail clerk witnessed? Just speculation, but, if it is, it likely was sitting on a loading dock because it was there to be evaluated with other cars (competitive evaluation) ...or it could have also been there for measurement, or other reasons. It makes sense if it was sitting on a loading dock - either on its way here from (or ready to be shipped back) to the land down under. It would also make sense for an (all-new-for -1971) model to be evaluated. It may have even been a crude prototype, especially in the fall of 1969. It could have been confused , I guess, with a 4-door E-body....just look at the E-body door handles.

thats a interesting idea,tbs,
but why would ma mopar have an aussie 4 door ford again?

back then the tariffs for cars being imported was kinda big and thats why most american companies shipped them in knockdown form,to avoid that.

you know, you just did give me an idea tho...
what ford or mercury 4 door looks like a cuda?
thats a very valid Point about the competitors cars being on the premises.

Interesting theory, but no chance. The XB came out in '73, while its immediate predecessor (the XA, 1972 only) had a front end more reminiscent of a '69 Torino.

For the record, the '69-70 Aussie Falcon was a dead ringer for the '66-67 U.S. version, stacked headlights and all.

Wow - I glad I subscribed to this thread - it's better than the Presidential Debates!!! My hope is that no one is wearing a pant suit and had anything to do with Benghazi regardless of what you have on your private email server!!!

Just a quick update RC. The Water Pump Pulley and Power Steering Pulley for a 1973 340 are smaller in diameter than the ones used in 1970. The Crank Pulley also sits further out on a 1970 340 than the 1973 340 Pulley does. We have the "new" ones ready to bolt on after the paint cures.

lets work it out gentlemen.....?

I can't go back and check PM's because they were lost after the new update on the site. If I was rude and attacking towards you, I apologize. I really don't mind the contrast and differing of opinions. When people start "anonymously" calling Chrysler and have to lie to attract their attention, that's a different story. Their efforts fell by the wayside however and ended up being a good laugh for those involved. No one ever says who they really are and they sit back on the computer, posting things that they wouldn't say to your face. I'm not like that. To the contrary, I'm nice on here compared to the way I would be if someone decided to "extend an olive branch" in person. I certainly know the difference between a kiss on the cheek and a slap on the face.
