Ac clutch engagement

How do I know when or if my clutch is engaged? I don’t hear an engine idle change and don’t see it spinning differently when it’s switched on and off. Would I? I want to make sure it works before charging.

Just shoot 12v to the clutch wire(not running) , you’ll see the disc pull in slightly.
