Alan's 1970 Charger Restoration

Stopped by the shop this morning. They're finishing up a couple details and then disassembling for paint. One other car in front of it; should be in paint in 1-2 weeks.

I painted the grille & taillight housings. They're not perfect, but look so much better. I started on the finish panel & headlight doors, but weather turned cold (40s) so no painting until at least Thursday.

The grille was painted w/3 different paints. Eastwood Chassis Black Primer & Paint on metal brackets, SEM Trim Black Ultra (gloss black) for fins, and Grille Paint Silver from Herbs for all the rest.

I intend to let the grille cure for 2-4 weeks then paint a layer of clear on it. Maybe the SprayMax 2k clear gloss available through Summit Racing (quick & cheap shipping)? Anyone use it before?

I used an Ace Paint for the inside of the taillight housings. I'm happy with the shine/reflection - hope it helps with the brightness (picture if someone needs a reference)? I used Seymour Alum-Blast on the outside.

Stopping by the shop in the AM to see if it's inching towards the paint booth.
