I took off my hood to get into the engine easier on my 73 charger, now i cant seem to get the alignment back properly. the right side is sitting much closer to the fender than the left. Any ideas why? and/or any suggestions at all? thank you

Try loosening the hood mounting bolts just a touch and see if you can move the hood where it belongs when it is close to being closed. This will probably take a few tries because either the bolts won't be loose enough or still a little tight. Also the hood latch has an adjustment but if you didn't touch that don't worry. Be careful when closing the hood so you don't ding the paint if the alignment is off when closing the hood, and some painters tape on the edges would protect the paint too. Good luck!

If it was OK before you took it off you should be able to get it back there. Try to get another set of hands out there to help. It should adjust with the bolts loosened that mount the hood to the hinge.

Tip for next time. Scribe the hinge bolts before removing them.

Or drill 1/8" holes on each side through the hinge and hood before you take the hood off and when you go to put it back on put 1/8" pins in the holes till they line up. Tighten bolts and call it good.
